Ranunculus ficaria 'Brazen Hussy'

A form of the lesser celandine, this variety has glossy dark chocolate leaves and small buttercup yellow flowers. The leaves tend to die back after flowering. It grows to a height of about 2.5 cm, with the flowers rising a further 2.5 cm above this. It forms a mat of about 30 cm if left undisturbed. It can be invasive, spreading by means of underground bulbils, so grow in a terracotta pot to prevent its spread.
